Sometimes, getting to the gym is enough. Or we think so. We compartmentalize fitness into its one hour window each morning and don’t re-visit until the morning.
Well, here is what we think about that. BAD IDEA!
In order to achieve optimum results at the gym, you have to think about working out outside the gym! And with a little mindfulness, you can reach your goal much faster.
Start by taking the stairs and skip the elevator.
Park your car farther away in the lot.
Walk a few laps around your son’s soccer game rather than sitting the whole game.
Walk or ride your bike to the gym.
Instead of meeting your friends for dinner, walk to get frozen yogurt or meet at the mall.
Give your dog a little spring in his step and jog for half of your walk.
These small steps help you become more active and burn significant calories over time. Add basic—even mindless—activity to your day and get BIG results!
